Millie was born January 14, 1928 in Richland Center, WI to the late Marsha, nee Patch and Bernard Braithwaite. She grew up in Bloom City, WI with her four siblings. For all 8 years of grade school, her father, Bernard, was her teacher (which she would tell you made it even harder on her). She graduated from Richland Center High School and went on to the Milwaukee County School of Nursing, becoming a nurse and working at Milwaukee County Hospital. In 1951 she married the late John M. Tinetti and shortly thereafter moved to Skokie, IL where she took a leave from nursing to raise her children. In the late 1970’s she began working for the Village of Skokie Health Department, and after 10 years of dedicated service, retired and moved back to Richland County, WI with her husband. After her husband’s passing in 1995, Millie split her time living in Florida, Wisconsin, and Illinois. Millie enjoyed reading books, puzzles, trivia competition (which she always won), and listening to George Strait music. Millie moved back to the Chicago area in 2014 where she spent her remaining years.
Millie is preceded in death by her husband, John; her son, Jack (Denise); her grandson, Mark; and brothers, Robert (Alice) and Sheridan.
Millie is survived by her sons, Michael (Diane) and Anthony (Sheila); her grandchildren: Ariane (Doug), Christine, John (Luiza), Nicole, Austin, Steven, and Thomas; her great-grandchildren: Francesca, AnaMaria, Dominic, and Victoria; her siblings, Lynda (Ralph) and Lanny (Mary Ann); and many nieces and nephews.
Millie will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. A Memorial Mass in Millie’s honor will be held Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church, 8116 Niles Center Rd, Skokie, IL 60077. All are welcome to attend.
