Marcella Catherine Rietberg

Marcella C. Rietberg, 89, went to be with our Heavenly Father on November 5, 2019.

She was born in Winsted, Minnesota to the late Johanna and Harold Burger. Besides her parents, Marcella was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jack Reitberg; and sons, Allen and Dennis.

After serving her country in the Army, she went on to work as a Licensed Practical Nurse at DePaul Medical Center for over 30 years. Marcella was an active member of Christ and St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Norfolk until her health prevented her from attending. She was a proud baker, lavishing love on her family in evenly divided cookie goodness. Marcella was a lifelong Disney fan, a true Mouseketeer!

Left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Pat Riefer and Jackie Hertz (Ruben); son, Jerry Rietberg; grandchildren, Ryan Davis, Krista Davis, Kara Riefer, Brittany Riefer, Gina Rietberg, Julie Rietberg, Anthony “Tony” Rietberg, Jerry Rietberg, Jr., Rebecca Rietberg, Ian Powell, Eric Powell; 10 great grandchildren; brothers, Marven and Marcel Burger; and a host of other family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 9, 2019 from 10-11 a.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk. A service to celebrate her life will begin at 11 a.m. with burial to follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with the rendering of Military Honors. Biography
