

Daniel Mayer Glasner, 77, of Jamaica Bay in Fort Myers, FL passed away on April 16, 2017 surrounded by his family. Dan also lived in West Chester, Pennsylvania, Bedford, New Hampshire, and Baltimore, Maryland throughout his life. He was born March 20, 1940 in Uniontown Pennsylvania to the late Rabbi Samuel and Jennie (nee Solomon) Glasner. Dan graduated from Johns Hopkins University with his Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Psychology. He then earned his Master’s and PhD from Purdue University in Industrial Psychology. Dan worked for Ely Lilly in Indianapolis, and then joined the Hay Group in Philadelphia, he was then asked to take the position of SR. Vice President of Human Resources in Manchester, New Hampshire with Bankeast. He then returned to the Hay Group and retired in 2000. Dan met Elaine N. Goldstein at the age of 13 and the two began to date. At 18 years old, they were married and began a wonderful life together having two sons, Robert and Michael. He was involved with their children’s sports teams; especially little league, and served as an umpire for years even after his sons no longer played. He was President of Temple Shalom in Broomall, Pennsylvania. Dan was also an adjunct professor at Drexel University and served as an arbitrator for labor relations. Dan was musically inclined, playing trombone through high school and college. Dan and Elaine enjoyed traveling and creating life sized sand sculptures. Dan and Elaine moved to Jamaica Bay in 2001 and he became involved in the community. Dan is survived, by his beloved wife of 59 years Elaine N. Glasner; his devoted children Robert Glasner and wife Brenda of Boyertown, Pennsylvania, Michael Glasner of Fort Myers, Florida; loving grandchildren, Joshua, Jennifer and husband Chris, Justin, Jordan, Jeremy, Julianna; great-grandchildren, Nova and Kennedy; dear sister, Ruth Glasner of Tracy, California. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Toni Glasner and Judy Glasner The family will hold services privately at a later date and time.
