John is survived by his wife, Carolyn (Presley) Copley; daughter, Benita Copley (Tim Ennis); granddaughter, Sarah Beth Copley, and one sister, Gladys (Copley) Horn. Born in Ethel, WV (July 21, 1942), he is preceded in death by parents, John R. Copley, and Irene Cassidy Copley and one sister, Carolyn Copley Mills.
John was a nineteen-year resident of the Pine Lakes community in North Fort Myers, where he spent most afternoons hobnobbing with friends in the community watering hole. He followed sports religiously, especially the University of Michigan football team. Additionally, he collected six holes-in-one over the course of his many golfing adventures.
An informal gathering to celebrate John’s life will be held at the Pine Lakes Country Club Pub from 1-3 pm, Sunday, December 9th at 10200 Pine Lakes Blvd, North Fort Myers, FL 33903
