Bob is predeceased by his beautiful wife, Ann. He is survived by his 5 children, Bob (Greta), Diane, Sandra (Bob), Bruce (Janine), and Brenda (John); 12 grandchildren, Michael (Sandra), Brent, Mitchell, Danielle, Rebecca, Christian, Marissa, Tessa, Stuart, David, Douglas and Victoria; and his brother Dan (Jan) of New Zealand.
Our Dad wore many hats: Inspector, Builder, Artist, Reader, and Lions Club Member. He was a member of the Vancouver Marpole Lions Club for 42 years, and served as secretary and president. Bob’s professional career culminated as the superintendent on the construction of the Century Plaza Hotel on Burrard street, just before he launched his second career as a building inspector with the City of Vancouver. He was involved in many project that changed the landscape of Vancouver, including Expo 86.
Dad always made us laugh; he was thoughtful, and taught us so much. He carved beautiful works of art, that he loved to share, and that we will now cherish as fond remembrances.
A Celebration of Life will be held at St Catherine's Anglican Church, 1058 Ridgewood Drive, North Vancouver, on Saturday May 26th at 11AM. Donations in Bob’s memory may be made to Lions Gate Hospital or North Shore Hospice.
