This news came as a shock to me. I knew Franklyn well. I would see him often outside the front-door enjoying a cigarette. And I would run into him almost everyday in the mail-room.

Every time we met greetings were exchanged and a short conversation was had.

You were a very nice man, Franklyn, and you will be missed.

My deepest condolences to Franklyn’s family and his sister Rosemary. I have known Franklyn for 18 years and he always had a smile on his face. Whenever I emailed or called Franklyn he would reply or come up to my desk in minutes. Most recently about one month ago, I emailed him not knowing he was sick and he replied back the same day. I wish I could have told him how remarkable he was instead of enquiring about a work situation. The mailroom will not be the same without Franklyn. Rest in peace.

I don’t have memories of Him but I had the privileged to have met him when I drove our Pastor to say prayers just few hours before he passed. Reading the obituary, I must say what a nice, fine man he was. My deepest condolence to Grace & the whole family. May he Rest In Peace.
I’m with Monsignor Joano at his dentist on Sheppard & Yonge, thinking of dropping by but didn’t know that the service was early.

I had the privilege of knowing Franklyn since arriving at Rotman 18 years ago. He would brighten up my day as I checked the morning mail. Not just the smile, but the sense of humour. I would always comment on the recent Raptors performance-Franklyn shared the Raptors ups and downs with me over those many years.

Such a kind, sincere person. You will be greatly missed, Franklyn, by your many friends at the Rotman School.

To Franklyn's Family I send my sincere condolences. You have lost a cherished and much-loved member of your family. We, at Rotman, have lost a most remarkable colleague and friend.

Over 22 years working at Rotman, whenever I called Franklyn with a request, but didn't leave a message, he would always return the call. Now, before getting to the matter at hand, Franklyn would first ask, in that meaningful, non-rhetorical way - How are you? And immediately, the world felt better, and the matter at hand could wait.

Franklyn also had the uncanny ability to read your state of well-being. Whether you were having a good day or bad, Franklyn knew what was on your mind. Quite simply, Franklyn understood. In his gentle, caring way, he was there to affirm his support, on your way to the office, whenever, or on your way out of the building, whenever.

Franklyn meant what he said, and said what he meant, even when he didn't say anything.

How remarkable is that!
