When I went to see David for the first time for the DORS Occupational Therapy home modification assessment at his first mobile home, I did not close the gate all the way and when I went to leave, Jack the dog, had gotten out of the yard! I felt so badly.  David and I both got in our cars to go looking for him.  I was relieved to find him a few streets over playing in  a neighbor's garden.  I simply called his name and opened my car door, and in he hopped into my car!   I took him back to David's house thinking I would put him in the yard with the gate securely closed.  Jack, however,  would not get out of my car.  I did all kinds of maneuvers to get him to get out of my car but he sat there quite happily.  David finally returned and was relieved to see his buddy Jack sitting in my car. It took both of us quite a while to finally convince Jack to get out of my car.  We had a good laugh. It seems that David took Jack once per week to the McDonald's Drive-Thru for an ice cream treat and apparently  Jack thought I was going to do the same!  David was a very special and kind hearted man.  His work ethic and desire for independence was very much respected.   He embodied what our DORS agency stands for. It was a pleasure to know him.

My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. He will be missed by his Walmart family.
