Eduardo Zenteno

Eduardo Zenteno, 85, passed away on May 5, 2018 after a sudden short illness. He is survived by his wife, Ola Zenteno, and children, Wernher Zenteno, Olga Zenteno (Tim Mancier) and Sian Zenteno. Eduardo Zenteno was born in Oruro, Bolivia to Simona Alvarez and Agustin Zenteno. Eduardo graduated from Anglo American School in Oruro, Bolivia where he studied English. His proficiency in English landed him a job at the United States Information Agency with the US Embassy in La Paz, Bolivia. His managers there facilitated his immigration to Oklahoma in 1966 along with his wife and son, Werhner. Daughters, Sian and Olga, were subsequently born in Oklahoma City. Eduardo Zenteno worked at Central Sales Promotion and for the Oklahoma Publishing Company (OPUBCO) for over 30 years. Eduardo Zenteno made sure all his children graduated from private Catholic high school and attained university degrees. Eduardo worked two jobs at times to support his family. Eduardo enjoyed watching World Cup soccer as well as American football with his children. Eduardo's gentle spirit will be remembered by the many friends and acquaintances he made in Oklahoma City. He loved to play chess and played every week with the local chess club. He also loved bird watching and rehabilitating injured wild baby birds. He hand built many bird feeders and bookshelves and made home improvements all his life. His positive attitude will be missed by friends and family. A wake will be held from 4 pm to 8 pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Friday, May 4, 2018, and a Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Rose Hill Mausoleum Abbey at 6001 NW Grand Boulevard, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. His family would like to thank the amazing and kind nurses at Integris Hospice and Baptist Hospital ICU who cared for Eduardo Zenteno in the last weeks of his life.
