Olen Dale Hirrill

After a hard-fought battle with Lung cancer, Olen Dale Hirrill of Oklahoma City peacefully passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2020 @ 12:35 PM while in Hospice care at the age of 84. He leaves behind his beautiful wife, Shirley Hirrill; their daughters, Terri Cole and husband Bobby Cole, Sherri Allen and husband Tim Allen; sons, Curtis Grove and wife Lorie Grove, Darrell Hirrill and wife Pam Hirrill, Bruce Hirrill, and numerous Grandchildren and great Grandchildren. Dale was predeceased by his parents, brothers, sisters, and daughter.

Olen Dale Hirrill was considered a "Jack of All Trades, Master of None" and President of the "Abused Husbands Club" (self appointed). Dale was born January 15, 1935 to father Albert Andrew Hirrill and mother Tennie May Jones. He grew up in a large, loving family with 3 sisters and 2 brothers. Dale joined the Air Force on August 19, 1954, where he served his country proudly until his Honorable Discharge on October 17, 1966. He then moved into various business ventures and worked for the State of Oklahoma where he retired as an auditor. Later into Dale’s retirement he turned his focus to rental property management.

Dale was a driven professional with an unmatched work ethic. He also loved his family and dogs (Lilly and Mindy) with all his heart. Dale served his family faithfully for many years and was always willing to go above and beyond to help those in need.

Dale requested to be cremated. As a Military Veteran, his ashes will be interred at Fort Sill with a visitation headstone to commemorate his life. A Memorial Service will be held at Southern Hills Baptist Church 8601 S Pennsylvania Ave Oklahoma City, OK on Saturday January 18, 2020 at 10AM.

The family would especially like to thank the many friends and family that have visited, called, and brought food to show their support and love, and for the constant attentive treatment by the Hospice Care.
