Lynn was born December 23, 1935 in Ava, MO to Raymond and Dora Vaughn. He was raised in and around Ava, MO where he learned about life at the knee of his beloved grandfather, James and grandmother, Leila. Fetching water from the spring was one of his chores. The family grew and canned tomatoes for the troops during WWII (all with horses and mules and no running water or electricity). His grandfather nicknamed him Jimson and Judge Harvey. Lynn joined the Marines at the age of 17 and served as a firefighter in the Korean War from 1953-1956. He was in an automobile accident and fractured his right arm in California after his discharge from the USMC. He did odd jobs when he returned home such as an elevator operator for KCP&L building while giving his arm time to heal. Finally becoming a professional truck driver. He moonlighted with his little red dump truck and was very proud to have helped in the building of the many Kansas City places such as the Kansas City International Airport, the Arrowhead stadium and the Hallmark building. He retired from Schock Transfer in 1992 at the age of 57. He spent his time remodeling his home in Olathe and working on his creative side. He wrote a book, many poems, songs and drew enough pictures to fill an art gallery! He has known many loves and had many kids pass through his doors.
He is survived by his wife, Bonita; daughter, Kim (Robert); son, Kevin (Rosa); step-daughter, Theresa Fife (Gary); sister-in-law, Marcelle Miller (Ron); step son, Shawn (Summer); grandchildren: Robby, Kevin Jr. and Leta; step-grandson, Marshall; great grandson, Jamie; brothers: Wayne (Shannon) and Allen (Loretta).
