WALMSLEY, Christopher "Kris" John

After a brief and courageous battle with cancer, it is with great sorrow to announce the passing of Christopher (Kris) Walmsley on June 9th, 2019, in his 58th year. Kris was predeceased by his parents, Aldith Walmsley (nee Burley) and John (Jack) Walmsley of Oshawa, Ontario and brother-in-law David Barnes of View Lake. Sadly he leaves behind his beloved wife Lisa (nee Barnes), stepson Dawson Jones, brother Michael (Jackie Fraser), sister-in-law Sally Lloyd (Doug Lloyd), sister-in-law Dolly Barnes, Aunt Sharon (nee Burley), many cousins, friends, and his beloved rescue cat Otis.

Kris was an outdoor Sales rep for CCS Industrials since February 2010. Prior to working for CCS, he worked for the family business of Walmsley – Judd. He was a remarkable, unique, kind person who was always genuinely concerned for others. Like his father, he loved music and golf. He was also very passionate about the environment, civil rights and freedom - admiring the likes of Martin Luther King and Ernesto "Che" Guevara, to name a few. He made many friends with co-workers and clients over the years, and has sustained friendships with many from his grade and high school (Donovan Collegiate) days. He loved travelling, the Chicago Blackhawks, going to concerts, taking long dog walks, and random road trips in search of hidden gems, with Lisa.

Lastly, a huge shout out to the staff on 4E and 2N at Ajax Hospital, for their kindness and support, facilitating Lisa and Kris's marriage within days of receiving the devastating prognosis.

Visitation will be held June 21, 2019 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME - 847 King St. W. Oshawa (905-721-1234) followed by a service at 3:00 pm. Memorial donations may be made to the Ajax Pickering Hospital Foundation, 580 Harwood Ave South Ajax, ON L1S 2J4 or to AVA (Action Volunteers for Animals, via CanadaHelps.org).

So sorry for your loss. I came upon the obituary by chance yesterday and was shocked and saddened. Growing up, Chris lived on the same street as myself. I knew him from elementary school and can picture him drumming up some tune with a couple of pencils. This happened often, he couldn’t stop moving. I ran into Chris some years back and was touched by him kissing both my cheeks with enthusiasm. He was so positive and kind. We had a good chat. Rest In Peace Kris. You were a true gentleman

I was sad to hear of Chris’s passing . . He was a customer at the bank where I worked for many years and I would serve him many times over the years. He was always outgoing friendly and fun to talk too. He always had a smile on his face and he would ask how my day was going.
I am so sorry for the loss of such a kind caring guy.
My thoughts are with all of you at this difficult time.
Glad I had the pleasure of knowing a small part of Chris

The world lost an incredible man but his memories, laughter and love will live in my heart forever!❤️
I seen him every week for years, always came in positive and full of happiness with a smile that filled the room!
Although I miss you dearly my friend you have given more insight on how the world should live. Always forgive with your heart, smile bright and be happy no matter how dark your days may seem. I cherish the man that you were here on earth and for the man I know you are with the angels!
Thank you for teaching me that friendship and love is so important, you always made time for me when I needed you and you have supported me through many things over the years. You are truly the most positive man I know! I miss you and I have tears sometimes but mostly smiles!! Until we meet again, I hope you dance to the music you love and forever shine bright on all the people you touched here on earth, always missed but never will be forgotten x/o!

As a kid growing up and having practically lived at the Johnston household (next door to the Walmsley's on Keewatin); I have very fond memories of Kris with his welcoming smile and friendly manner. My sincere condolences to Kris' family and friends.

My deepest condolences to Kris' family and close friends. It was a shock to hear of his passing. Whenever Kris would come to the Tartan and watch us play on Saturday afternoons he just lit up the room with his smile, enthusiasm and kindness. I really appreciated him being there! He had such a positive, vibrant personality and a good heart. Kris will be missed and fondly remembered - his spirit is strongly felt.
Sending strength and love your way, especially today.

Kris, one of a special kind, Kris. I remember the first time I met you. After you and Lisa left my house that day, I remember just standing there, speechless; thinking "who the heck was that guy??? Wow, what a beautiful person!!". And I felt that way every single time I was in your company. Every single time! I still feel enlightened just knowing you and know I will continue to feel that way just by remembering you. It really sucks you had to go so soon. My condolences to your family and friends and to your lovely wife Lisa. She knows I have her back.

Kris was one-of-a-kind. His positive outlook on life, laughter that filled a room and unique stories would always bring a smile to our face. Kind and caring, Kris was always sure to ask about you and your family first.

Gone too soon, you will be missed by all of us.

So sad to here about Kris’ passing! First met Kris when he was working for Walmsley-Judd and we could pass at least an hour just shoot the breeze about anything when he came into Micro Precision Plastics, back in the day.

My condolences to his family and friends! The world is truly a little darker now that he isn’t in it anymore!
