Dearest Garnet,
As incongruous as this may sound, it seems fitting that Deborah’s life was celebrated on International Women’s Day. I’m sorry I couldn’t be there.
Deborah, Debbie, Deb, Debs: what a woman. What a roar. So passionate about everything. We learned of her passing while on holidays a few islands away from Dominica. And yes, she’d told us at work what she thought of P.M. Skerritt, in colourful words that left no place for interpretation.
She was a nurturer, our Deb. She fretted and cared about everyone at work and took interest in their family. She had the biggest heart tucked into that itty bitty powerhouse of a woman.
In 2008, there was an office team building day where Deb decided that she would jump in the pool fully clothed. She was so happy!
I will drink a cup of tea and make a toasted tomato sandwich to her memory.
A gentle hug is sent your way on the wings of an angel. God bless.
Okay.
Marie

I was fortunate to sing with Garnet for many years and Debbie was such a big part of that music. She was always a strong and supportive woman in all we did. Her gravelly voice, and her infectious laugh made me smile on more than one occasion and she always had kind words for me. She was a wonderful woman and will be missed. Safe journeys Debbie. Much love to the family and to you at this hard time, Garnet. Big hugs, I know she is making angels laugh and likely helping to get more reggae music played in heaven. oxoxoxox

Debbie it was heart breaking when the kids and I found out about your passing. We will miss you greatly and think of you often. The kids and I will plant some flowers for you this summer! I will miss hearing you toot your horn as you drive by. I will miss seeing you outside in the summer watering all your beautiful plants. And I will miss hearing you complaining about how much snow we got. But most of all I’ll miss your warm hugs!! And I know how much my children will miss you, you have watched them grow. Love always and forever, Lindsey, Curtis and McKenzie

Debs, I am not good with words, was a numbers girl like you.
...she was fierce, she was strong, she wasn't simple. She was crazy and sometimes she barely slept. She always had something to say. She had flaws and that was ok. And when she was down she got right back up. She was a beast in her own way, but one idea described her best. She was unstoppable and she took everything she wanted with a smile. (R.M. Drake)
My friend. My mentor. My confidante. My champion. I miss you.

Deb ’s laugh, unique voice, and mama bear hugs will be missed forever. Her passion to help her colleagues from work knew no boundaries, such as how she always worked so hard to get the letter of offers ready in time. She would deliver these letters to the employee, as proud as can be, as though each one was one of her own; whether she referred to you as “her kids”, “Doll”, “Tinkerbell” or “Princess”, or other, her heart was always in the right place. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her at CSC.

I met Deb in 2002 when I started to work for ATIP, we chatted when we could and the hugs we shared were awesome. Our conversations of support, cricket, family and life made my day even when I left CSC. We cherished our phone calls and the lunch dates we had sometimes. My favourite thing to do was sending her smarties in the internal mail or dropping them at her desk when she was away. I will miss her smile and laughter, god bless Garnett and her family, she wa a treasure and will be missed!! I thank god that I had the opportunity to know her and have her in my life!!

I’ve known Deb since I was in my teenage years, when she worked with my mother at CSC. Over the last 20 years, Deb became my “work mom”. I could always count on Deb for help - no matter whether it was personal or professional, Deb was always there to listen and lend a hand. I will sorely miss her support and encouragement. She was like a member of the family. My sincere condolences for your loss.

My deepest sympathy to Debbie's husband, family and friends
I couldn't believe it when I find out about the sad news. I will miss seeing you at work, our little chat about your flower garden, the weather, .... Debbie was a special person, always willing to help others, when you had a question for her, she would always take the time to help you. She even called my boyfriend at home to help him with an ergo assessment. A good hearted woman ❤
