Born on December 15, 2000, in Louisville, Colorado to beloved parents Nancy and Jerry Ackerman. Jess as she was fondly called by her family and friends, had an energy that with just one encounter with her, you would remember her for life. She was known as being kind, loving, and inclusive. Jessica loved so many and was loved by so many more. If you knew her well or barely at all, she always left you thinking. Whether it was a thoughtful conversation the two of you shared, her witty humor or something non-conventional that she threw your way, she left her mark.
Jessica was deeply passionate about animals, art, and literature. She was loved dearly by the many homeless and stray animals that she adopted and cared for over the years. Jessica's nurturing personality was also reflected in her post high school plans to teach art to special needs children.
Jessica had a love for edgy fashion, antique costume jewelry, and tattoos and used these expressions of fashion to display her eclectic personality. She also enjoyed writing poetry as a means for sharing her feelings and views on the injustices in the world. Jessica believed strongly in equal opportunities for all.
Although we will never be the same again, Jess will continue to live with us through memories. At this time, we must come together, laugh and celebrate Jessica's life as she would have wanted it that way.
Jessica is survived by her parents, Jerry and Nancy; her brother, Justin Ackerman and twin sister, Jennifer Ackerman; her uncles, Tom Walker and Steve Ackerman; her many cousins; and her beloved pets: two dogs, Betty and Snoopy; four cats: Brad, Burt, Fester, and Coraline plus her new rat Taz. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Dorothy and Alver Walker, and her paternal grandparents, Leon and Frances Ackerman.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that a donation be made in Jessica's name to Twinless Twins Support Group International via https://www.twinlesstwins.org/causes/donate-now/
