

After high school, John enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. After boot camp, infantry and electronic technician school, he served with HMM-264, New River NC where he was flight crew on CH-46 helicopter. After leaving the Marine Corp John went to work with Eastman Kodak as a Field Engineer covering Florida and South Georgia. His career continued with Johnson & Johnson until joining the Information Technology team at the College of Business Administration at the University of Central Florida in 2001. At UCF he was a Systems Programmer who looked forward to going to work every day. He reveled in sharing his computer systems expertise and particularly enjoyed trouble-shooting and tweaking individual systems and equipment. John spent untold hours of his own time helping and tutoring anyone who needed help with their computer.
John was best known for his computer skills in teaching and troubleshooting or just letting you know that it’s time for a replacement. “Here let me help” was something John seemed to be always saying.
John is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Ann. He is survived by three brothers and one sister and their spouses, Clarke (Portia), Fred (Faye), Bill (Edwina) and Carol Pate (Steve), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
