Cecil Calvin Greenwood

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2014, from the chapel of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home. Burial will follow in St. Rose Baptist Church Cemetery in Skipperville under the direction of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

Cecil Calvin Greenwood was born on September 14, 1966 in Skipperville, Alabama, to Alice Bryant and Cecil Greenwood. He grew up in a military family, and was a loving son, father, brother, grandfather, and friend. He spent the last 35 years building a career, providing for and helping others. He not only became a very skilled roofer, but advanced to providing job analysis, estimates, and quality control. He also supervised over occupational safety and health issues. Calvin was a foreman, superintendent, and rose through the union ranks to the executive level, including union president. He was basically the “go to person” on anything involving a roof or structure.

Calvin was an outgoing, hard-working, energetic, and caring person. He was a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan as well. He will be truly missed, and will forever live on in our minds, bodies, and hearts.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Greenwood of Atlanta; parents, Alice and Robert Beasley of Madison, AL; daughters, Vanity Greenwood of Ozark, AL, Jemera Brown of Douglasville, GA; son, Dominque Greenwood of Douglasville, GA; sisters, Tonia Jackson (Anthony Nance) of Huntsville, AL, Teretha Fryer (Stacey Fryer) of Clio, AL, Angel Kelly (Zach Kelly) of Skipperville, AL, Victoria Greenwood of Troy, AL; brother, Cecil Greenwood (Jakyra McGill) of Ozark, AL; grandson, De'Anthony Simpson; friend, Nina Jordan of Atlanta, GA.

Serving as pallbearers will be Lee Bryant, Ben Bryant, Charles Bryant, Jonathon Thomas, Marcus Thomas, and Anthony Truitt.
