Born 11/17/1932 – Died 7/26/2018
Elihu, known to all who loved him as Eli, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 26th.
Eli was a devoted husband to his wife Dorothy for 40 years.
He is survived by Dorothy; his first wife Naomi Hochman, their three children, Richard Hochman (Kathy) and their 2 children, Lisa Hochman Rudoltz (Marc) and their two children, Lauren Hochman Blair (George) and their two children; his three step-children, James Ladden, Lisa Ladden, her three children, and Amy Ladden; and his sister, Elaine. He also has three great-grandchildren and just missed the arrival of his fourth.
Eli and Dorothy lived in Mt. Tremper, New York and Venice, Florida.
He lived life with contagious enthusiasm and was always ready for the next adventure. He was a master swimmer, enjoyed kayaking, and thought jet-skiing and para-sailing sounded like fun. A lover of music, he played the piano and when listening to classical music, fancied himself the conductor of the orchestra. Eli loved to cook, was an excellent bread maker, and joyously left chaos in the kitchen following his culinary efforts. His large and generous spirit inspired all who know and love him. He will be dearly missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Glimmerglass Festival in memory of Eli Hochman.
