Janice was born May 20, 1938, in Scott County, Mississippi, the daughter of John Wiley McCraw and Essie May Robinson McCraw.
Janice was a long time resident of Rankin County and a faithful member of Pearl United Methodist Church. She served for many years in admissions with the Mississippi State Hospital at Whitfield. Her friendly smile and warm spirit endeared her to friends and co-workers alike. Her family was always her top priority and she delighted in caring for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In the 1970’s Janice fought for and helped bring about meaningful change in how all children in the Rankin County School District would receive educational services tailored to meet their needs. Her loving legacy of service to others and the kindness she demonstrated to everyone she encountered will remain in the hearts of all who were privileged to know her.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lamar C. Kyzar, in 2017.
Survivors include her children, Donald Kyzar (Susan), Darlene Byrd, and Mark Kyzar (Elaine); grandchildren, Brent, Jason, Tiffany, and Amanda; and great-grandchildren, Nicole, Dustin, Bradley, Avery, Cassidy, and Ellora.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Pearl United Methodist Church.
