Ernest R. Sleeter, 74 of Pekin, Illinois passed away Monday, June 25, 2018 in Pekin. He was born December 24, 1943 in Pekin to Walter and Margrette Pettis Sleeter. They preceded him in death.

He married Sharon Wright on June 16, 1962. She preceded him in death December 17, 2016 in Marquette, Michigan.

Ernest is survived by his daughter, Joy (Mike) Samms of Pekin; his son, Mark (Diane) Sleeter of Gladstone, Michigan; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers: Walter Sleeter Jr. of Michigan; Rollen Starkweather of Peoria; and his sister, Leona Walker of Pekin.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold & Cecil Starkweather.

Ernest worked as a truck driver for Air Land Express.
