Gordon W. Johnson

He was born on April 26, 1930 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to the late Algot A. and Lillian M. (Berg) Johnson. Gordon lived in Stockholm, South Dakota and then moved to Millbank, South Dakota.

He married Evelyn Lockhart on July 3, 1974 in Peoria. She preceded him in death on September 2, 2015.

Gordon is survived by his one son, Steven (Kirsten) Johnson of Plover, Wisconsin; one daughter, Karen (Paul) Larson of Oconto, Wisconsin; and two step-sons, Kent (Lynn) Worthington of Edwards, Illinois and Michael Worthington of Texas.

Gordon graduated from the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He then joined the United States Army. After serving during the Korean War, he worked at Caterpillar as an Engineer for 35 years, retiring in 1986. After retirement he and Evelyn lived in Florida and Arizona and enjoyed traveling in their RV. While in Florida he worked at H&R Block as a tax preparer. Gordon was a techie at heart, he loved all things having to do with technology, especially gadgets and computers. He also loved the many Bichon dogs that they had over the years.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
