Jean Soper

Peacefully at the Pines, Bracebridge, Ontario. In her 104th year. Born in Halifax and raised in Peterborough. Beloved wife of the late Edison George Soper. Dear mother of Linda Waterson of Toronto, Dianne (Garry) Cockburn of Bracebridge, Marjorie “Heather” Langen also of Bracebridge. Grandmother of Lori Leblond, Michael (Debra) Cockburn. Great Grand Mere of Aimee and Alexandre Leblond (and their father Randy), Kaiden, Bryden and Brynnly Cockburn. Daughter of the late Joseph and Ellen Mackness. Dear sister of the late Albert, William, Marjorie, Samuel, Ellen Anne “Mae”, Betty and Jack. Aunt Jean to her many nieces and nephews. Jean will always be remembered as a kind, compassionate and gentle lady who cared deeply for family and loved her time on the Otonabee. Friends will be received at the Comstock-Kaye Life Celebration Centre, 356 Rubidge Street on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 from 12:15 – 1:15 p.m., followed by the Funeral Service in the chapel at 1:30 p.m. Jean will be laid to rest with her husband at Little Lake Cemetery. Memorial donations to The Pines (C/O The District Municipality of Muskoka) or the Salvation Army (Peterborough Corps) or the Charity of Your Choice would be appreciated.
