HICKEY, Rosemary Therese

We have lost the heart of our family. Rosemary Therese Hickey passed away peacefully on Friday June 22, 2018, at the family home surrounded by her loved ones; two months and two days after her beloved Michael “Mac” to whom she was married for over 65 years. Rosemary had recently celebrated her 90th birthday on June 2nd, having a party with family and friends.

Devoted mother of Philip (Patricia), Mary Lou Mahoney (Edward), Joseph, Anne Hickey, Eileen Falla (Gordon), the late Frank (Danica) and Rosellen Hickey. Loving grandmother of Michael (Shirin), Thomas (Laura) and Carrington Hickey; Rebecca (Russell Turner), Adam, Rachel (Jason Veley) and Lucas (Mary Ellen) Mahoney; Kassia (Kenneth Shannon), Janine and Mollie Falla; and Jacob Hickey. Proud great-grandmother of Makena, Sophie, Henry, Sloan, Ferryn, Harlowe and Smith. Rosemary is survived by her sisters-in-law Marguerite Young, Jean Heffernan, and brother-in-law Clair Hickey and his wife Lois Hickey. Predeceased by her parents Joseph and Mabel Farrelly, and sisters-in-law Nellie Gifford, Lucille George, Marcella Sullivan and Eileen Maloney. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Robert and I are truly sorry for the loss of your mother , I didn't know Rosemary that well ,but as a volunteer for the Peterborough hospice I saw Rosemary a number of times .She was the sweetest lady .She wanted to meet my Robert so she invited me to her 90th birthday party as long as I brought Robert so she could meet him. Rest now Rosemary, you are now reunited with Mac.

Blessings
