Mrs. Verna Gladys Rolufs

At Springdale Country Manor on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 in her 95th year. Beloved wife of the late Howard Ross Rolufs (2007). Loving mother of Shirley Rolufs of Peterborough and Ruth (Ron) Mathews of Indian River. Dear grandmother of Stephen Butler of Whistler, B.C., Holli (Dave) Oliver of Ottawa and Adam Mathews of Indian River. Dear sister of Inez Anderson of Lumsden, Sask., Emma McMurray of 100 Mile House, B.C.; sister-in-law of Ernie Rolufs of Weyburn, Sask., Jewell McMurray of Calgary, Alberta and step-sister of Don Fieghen of Buckhorn. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Albert and Lillian McMurray and step-mother Annie McMurray (Fieghen); by brothers Cecil, Harley, Rene, Basil, James and William, sister Irma Rutledge, step-brother Edwin Fieghen and step-sister Doreen Titmarsh. Verna was a retired teacher in the retraining division at Sir Sandford Fleming College. Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Springdale Country Manor for their excellent care of and love for Mom. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street. Funeral service will be held on Monday, August 16, 2010 at 1:00 pm (visitation begins at noon) at ST. JAMES UNITED CHURCH, (Aylmer and Romaine Streets) with Rev. Bev Sumbler officiating. Interment at Rosemount Memorial Gardens. In memory of Verna, donations to St. James United Church or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.
