Jose Emilio Rodriguez

Jose Emilio Rodriguez passed away at the age of 84 on July 24, 2014 in Round Rock, Texas surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 22, 1930 to Augustine and Catalina (Mauricio) Rodriguez in Mission, Texas.

In 1958, Jose met Mercedes Perez and a year later, they were married. Together they raised five children, three daughters and two sons. Jose loved to fish, build things around the house and garden. He also enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas with his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Eva and Ramiro Ramirez. He also loved working outside and tending to his boss’s ranch.

Jose is preceded in death by his sister, Paula Rojas and his brothers, Victor Rodriguez, Eliseo Rodriguez, Jose Angel Rodriguez. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 56 years, Mercedes Rodriguez; children, Hortensia Mackemson, Helen Gustafson, Teresa Bortle, Richard Rodriguez, and Daniel Rodriguez; grandchildren, Christy Hubble, Josh Mackemson, Kelsey Gustafson, Karly Gustafson, Danielle Hamilton, Robert Bortle, and Alliyah Rodriguez; great-grandchildren, Watson Hubble, Brooklyn Hubble, and Maya Thatcher; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will greet guests at a visitation to be held on Sunday, July 27, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm with a recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 pm in the Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, July 28, 2014 at the funeral home with committal services following at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
