I write this, feeling so sad that I’ll be missing the celebration of Florence’s life. She was such a dear, kind, and gentle soul — one of the most genuine people I’ve ever known. Always honest and hardworking, she would do anything for her friends and family.
She had so much to live for — meeting the love of her life with Gene, becoming a proud great-grandma, watching her grandchildren grow up, and spending time with the family she devoted so much of herself to.
The words shared on the Garibaldi in the ’60s  FB site captured her spirit so beautifully, and I couldn’t agree more. Florence truly was a remarkable person who left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Florence, my cousin.😞  I remember her from our childhood when my mother would take us to her parents home and property, and we would set up our tent and camp for a couple of weeks in the summer.   It was such a beautiful piece of property and a wonderful lasting memory. We would play and go down to the river on some of the hot days. My sister Marilyn was closer to Florence‘s age, so they were closer and spent more time together. But I remember Florence as always being so sweet and kind.   As an adult, I only saw her occasionally… but she was always that sweet kind person. I am sure her family is going to really miss her. May she rest in peace🙏🏻✨💖

One of the nicest people I have known, always warm and friendly and grounded.  Florence cared for every one around her and she loved all of her family. We will miss her at every lunch, every get away each summer in Summerland.  So very sorry for her passing.

When Florence worked at Hammond Mill she was always our dad's (Pat Derosia) favorite.  I think he would have traded all of us to have her as a daughter.  She was always to kind and thoughtful, sweet, generous and funny,  and I know she will be missed.  My sincere condolences to her family, Florence (Derosia) St Jean.

I am so sorry to hear about Florence's  sadness. I have known her since I was 5 years old. She was such a loving care lady. I can never say she had a bad thing to say about anything. Florence was such a kind person  loving each and every one of us. I feel very fortunate to have known for 63 years.

For so many years, Florence sat in my chair — not just as a client, but as a dear friend. Our time together was never just about hair; it was about life, love, and laughter. Over the years, she shared so much of herself — stories about her children and grandchildren, the pride she felt in watching them grow, and the deep love she carried for her late husband. Her eyes would light up when she spoke of her family, and her warmth filled the room every single visit.

We talked about everything — her past, her dreams for the future, and the little everyday things that made life beautiful. I’ll never forget her sense of humor, her gentle wisdom, and the way she could make anyone feel special.

It’s hard to believe she’s gone. The last time I saw her, she was so full of hope and looking forward to the years ahead. Florence brought so much light into my life and into the lives of everyone who knew her. I’ll always treasure our talks, our laughter, and the privilege of being part of her world for so long.

She will be deeply missed, but her kindness and spirit will never fade from my heart. ❤️
