James Alfred Stiber

James Alfred Stiber, 74, of Kennesaw died Sunday (May 5, 2019) at Duke Medical Center in Durham, NC. He was born in Selinsgrove, PA in 1944 and moved to the Atlanta area in 1953. Jim Graduated from Briarcliff High School in 1962 and attended both Georgia State University and his beloved Georgia Institute of Technology. He and his wife Ann moved to Kennesaw in 1975 and have been long-time members of the Pinetree Country Club and First United Lutheran Church of Kennesaw. Jim was in the Army National Guard of Georgia and worked as a Marketing Manager with AT&T/Avaya for several decades before retiring in 2001. He was the founder & past president of the Pinetree Civic Association and an avid tennis captain. Since his retirement he has worked as an area manager for Cobb County Elections. The memorial service will take place on Saturday, 5/11/19, at 2:00 p.m. at First United Lutheran Church of Kennesaw.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Ann; two sons, Stephen R Stiber and wife Stacy, Woodstock, GA and T. Scott Stiber and wife Alison, St. Louis, MO; sister, Donna Sue Williams, Kennesaw, GA; niece, Christy Riddle and husband David, Kennesaw, GA; cousins, Sue Ellen Dickinson & Slade Dickinson, Sunbury, PA; 5 grandchildren, Avery Ann, Casen John, Julia Reagan, Adalynn Michelle & Aubrey Elisabeth. Preceded in death by mother, Ellen Jane Stiber; father, Donald Stiber and aunt, Nancy Dickinson.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to Duke Health in support of the Lung Transplant Director’s Fund to support education, patient needs, general research, and programmatic priorities (at the discretion of Medical Director Dr. John Reynolds in collaboration with the Surgical Director)
