Mary was born November 9, 1934 in St. Paul, MN, the second of nine children of Clarence and Ellen Gott. She graduated from South Saint Paul High School in 1952, then married her sweetheart, Tom, in 1955. They were married 63 amazing years and had six children. They raised their family on a dairy farm in Hastings, MN before building their dream log home on the Hunt Lake in Kilkenny, MN. Anyone who visited “the cabin” enjoyed great food, good conversation, and a game of dice, cards, or dominos.
Mary was a devout member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church of Shieldsville, MN. She was well-known for sewing beautifully crafted clergy vestments and banners for church services. Mary enjoyed crafting stained glass, crocheting, needlework, sewing, quilting, jewelry making, baking, and cake decorating among other hobbies.
Mary and Tom loved traveling to the far corners of the world and wintered in Myrtle Beach, SC. She was always quick to make new friends, with her welcoming smile and casual conversation. Everyone remembered meeting Mary!
