Annelle Louise Lemmon Bennett Canham, age 72, was surrounded by loved ones at her side as she left this world to fly off to her next adventure. She was born to John Leon and Dorothy Louise Lemmon on October 10, 1947. Annelle graduated Valedictorian at Cyprus High School in 1965 and was known for her hula dancing at class reunions. Mom could really shake a leg. She married David Bennett, they later divorced. Annelle married Guy Canham, they later divorced.
Annelle found joy in serving others which is how she spent most of her life giving and sacrificing her time for others. She had many callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but didn’t need a calling to put others first. She was always doing that no matter what. She touched the lives of everyone she met and even some she didn’t.
She loved her job and was loved by her workmates as a centerpiece of collaboration and fun. In 30+ years, her team figured out she has contributed to the training of over 1000 air traffic controllers during her career for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
Mom was brave and loved to go on thrilling adventures like sky diving, safaris, and traveling abroad. She lived life to its fullest and made every minute count. All of those adventures included family who she loved; especially her kids and grandkids.
Annelle loved to have fun and was quick witted, always joking. Grandma Nelly was the best cheerleader at ball games, dance recitals, and band concerts. She gave the best birthday and Christmas presents and rewards for good grades and good behavior. She lived for the holidays accruing a massive collection of decorations, throwing parties, giving gifts, and dressing up. Her house was a magical playground full of toys, snacks, and love.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a granddaughter, Sabrina Bennett. She is survived by her sons: Troy (Tammy) Bennett, Travis (Jessica) Bennett, and Bart Bennett (Kristi), 8 treasured grandchildren, and her brother, Ben (Sherry) Lemmon.
She was the embodiment of life. Her inclination for bravery, purity, and exemplary living made us often ask W.W.G.N.D (What would Grandma Nelly do?). She truly left a remarkable legacy and memories that will last forever.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 6 -8 pm at the Granger South Stake Center located at 4251 South 4800 West in West Valley City. Her services will be held Friday, February 7th at 11am at the Granger South Stake Center located at 4251 South 4800 West, West Valley City with a visitation one hour prior.
Ms. Annelle Louise Lemmon Bennett Canham will be placed to rest in Valley View Memorial Park.
