Elaine J Holmes

Elaine Joyce Holmes of Spring Grove, IL passed away at Centegra Northern Illinois Medical Center in McHenry, IL surrounded by family on Tuesday, December 26, 2017.

She was born November 24, 1943 in Chicago, IL to the late Mary (Jordan) Polachek and Alex Polachek. On February 22, 1987 Elaine married Dennis Holmes

Elaine was a beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt and Friend. Elaine lived to help others. Elaine’s passion in life was to help others. This included helping many elderly people with home health care needs later in her life. She touched many lives.

Elaine is survived by her husband Dennis; daughter, Roberta (Mark) Hartwick of Elkhorn, WI ; step daughter, Lisa Holmes (Robert Stone) of Antioch, IL; grandchildren, David Bacerott, Angela Hartwick, Mark Hartwick Jr., Robert Hartwick, Jenessa Hartwick, Rachael Hartwick; great grandchildren, Mason Erskine, Marlow Hartwick and Madaline Ream; siblings, Eileen Hofmann of Highland Beach, FL, Ellen (Robert) Grzetic of Bolingbrook, IL and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents Elaine was preceded in death by her siblings; Theodor (Ted) Polachek, Elizabeth (Betty), Eleanor, April; great grandson, Miles Erskine

A memorial will be planned at a future time.
