Valada Hotard Babin

ST. MARTINVILLE – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mrs. Laris Joseph “Bolo” Babin, the former Valada Hotard, age 97, at 1:00 pm Thursday, June 6, 2019 with Fr. Ed Duhon officiating. Interment will follow at St. Michael’s Mausoleum.

Visitation will be held from 8:00 am until 12:30 pm on Thursday with a Rosary at 9:00 am.

A native of Breaux Bridge and resident of St. Martinville, Mrs. Babin passed away at 1:42 pm on Monday, June 3, 2019 at Lafayette General Medical Center.

She is survived by her son, Dean Babin and wife Pennie of Broussard; two daughters, Charlotte Patin Gianelloni and husband Doug of Lafayette and JoAnne Johnson of Catahoula; nine grandchildren, Kevin Seaux, Angel Seaux, Mark Johnson, Josette Johnson, Monique Girard, Carl Patin, Patience Patin, Drake Babin and Cassie Babin; numerous great and great great grandchildren and one brother, Alvin Hotard of Breaux Bridge.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Laris Joseph “Bolo” Babin; parents, Jules and Lucille Daigle Hotard; daughter, Dianne Seaux and grandchild, Angie Seaux.

Pallbearers will be Dean Babin, Drake Babin, Kevin Seaux, Mark Johnson, Doug Girard and Carl Patin.
