

He graduated from Eldorado High School in 1969 with an athletic scholarship to the University of Arkansas, but declined, deciding to service his county during wartime as a member of the National Guard stationed in Ft. Polk, Louisiana.
After completing his military service, Herman began his career in the automobile industry, working at various dealerships, and joined the Ancira organization on December 1, 1993 as General Parts & Service & Body Shop Director, moving on to General Manager of the Ancira Volkswagen and Kia stores, and then serving as Vice President/General Manager of Ancira-Winton Chevrolet for many years until his death on April 9, 2018.
He was an active member of San Antonio Automobile Dealers Association, San Antonio Area Chevrolet Dealers, Texas Automobile Dealers Association, National Sporting Clays Association and the National Shooting Complex. He loved and served his Lord as a member of Helotes Hills United Methodist Church.
Herman was a devoted husband and friend to many. He had a heart as big as Texas and was a generous and giving man. He really enjoyed sporting clay competition and attending the National Finals.
He is survived by his loving wife Sally; his father and stepmother, Herman Murray, Sr. and Berta Jean; stepson Cody Hevner; children Shanna, Drew and Douglas Murray; sister Linda Hogue; grandchildren; and numerous loving friends.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, May 27, 2018, at 6:00 p.m. at Helotes Hills United Methodist Church, 13222 Bandera Road, Helotes, Texas 78023, followed by a reception in the Fellowship Hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made in memory of Herman to Helotes Hills United Methodist Church.
