Richard Murray Jones

Richard was born to Dena and Henry Jones on August 13, 1944. He graduated from Denison High School in Denison, Texas then joined the United States Marine Corps and served as a Sergeant (E-5) serving in Vietnam. He later attended and graduated from the University of Texas in Arlington. He enjoyed a career in the Life Insurance Industry and joined USAA Insurance Company where he met and married the love of his life Stephanie. After a career in insurance he became an elementary school teacher and taught in the Seguin School system until retirement.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 34 years, Stephanie, his son Colin Jones (wife Elizabeth, sons Miles and Calvin), daughter Meredith Kovner (husband Nathan) and stepson Matthew Ball (wife Andrea, son Cole and daughter Kasey). He is also survived by his mother Dena Jones, his brother Larry Jones (wife Judy), and sister Marilyn Kittelson (husband Steve).

A celebration of his life will be held at the family home on Saturday, August 19 from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the San Antonio area Cancer Society or the San Antonio First Marine Division Scholarship Fund.
