Biography

In loving memory of our loving father, husband, grandfather, sibling and dearest relative and friend Francisco Ochave Bernas.

Francisco's and his wife Adelaida have 4 children Jeanette, Frank, Suzanne and Steven. Their daughter Jeanette and her husband David have 4 children Ian, Rachel, Ryan and Halle. Their son Frank and his wife Jennifer have 3 children Landon, Brooke and Lindsay. Their daughter Suzanne has 2 children Max and Jake. Their son Steven and his wife Yanhua have 4 children Joseph, George, Kiana and Makaio.

Francisco also known as Francis or Frank, he grew up with his parents and siblings in Alaminos City and Province in Pangasinan Philippines. He has 3 sisters and 4 brothers. He joined the U.S. Navy to better his life and to help his family in the Philippines. He met Adelaida in Philidephia, PA when he was station there in 1962. Francis loved photography and one of the reasons how Francis and Adel met. Adel and her nursing friends were coming out of the library, the Francis approached the ladies asking if he could take a photo of them and they agreed. They took millions of photos and different poses. Long story short, Adel and Francis hit it off. Later that week, Adel asked Francis if he developed the film and Francis said it's still getting developed. After they got married on October 20, 1962, she asked again did you ever get the photos developed when we first met and our dad replied, "don't tell anyone there was no film in the camera in the first place".

Francisco and Adelaida were raised Catholic and raised their children Catholic as well. They attended Mass every Sunday. Francis and Adel started their life in Brunswick, GA and Jeanette and Frank, Jr. were born. Then the family moved to Long Beach, CA where Francis was newly stationed. Suzanne was born within a couple of months the family moved to Alameda, CA. After Francis retired from the Navy the family settled down in San Diego, CA a community named Mira Mesa. Then moved to another San Diego, CA community named Rancho Penasquitos where Francis and Adel retired and built priceless memories.

Francisco loved gardening, photography, carpentry, farming, sewing, cars, basketball, shopping, fashion, spending time with family, going to Sunday mass and would go to local casinos with Adelaida once in awhile.
