Vernon Lee Bentley Sr.

Mr. Vernon Lee Bentley, Sr., passed to his Heavenly Home on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Odell and Donna Bentley, granddaughter, Lily Michelle Lavender and brothers, Herman and Raymond Bentley.

Mr. Bentley served his country honorably in the United States Marines. He retired after many years as a pipefitter with Local 119. He was an avid outdoorsman, loving fishing, hunting and his frequent visits to Alaska. His friends will remember him as a “Rugged Man’s Man” who loved being outdoors!

He is survived by his wife, Janith Bentley and children: Vernon Lee Bentley, Jr. (Missy), Patricia Therrell (Tony) and Kimberly Lavender (Larry). He is also survived by his sister Patricia Simmons, ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, numerous other family members and friends.

Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home, Saraland, AL on Friday, June 26, 2020 beginning at 12:00 p.m. until service time of 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Valhalla Cemetery, Eight Mile, AL.
