Alice V. Higgins

Alice V Higgins, 94, of Raleigh, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2020. The funeral service will be held at a future date when social restrictions are eased. She was a member of St Luke the Evangelist Church in North Raleigh and her ashes will be buried with her late husband Ed in the Memorial Garden at the Epiphany Catholic Cathedral in Venice Florida.

Alice was born in Louisville Kentucky on December 26, 1925. She and her husband Ed raised their family in Endwell NY and enjoyed their retirement years in Nokomis FL. Alice was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother who was always there with a hug and listening ear for whatever her family and friends needed. Everyone will remember her beautiful smile, warm embrace and depth of faith.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband Edward Higgins, daughter Sherry Wiegele, brother Bill Vollmer, sister Mary Lee (Jack) Higdon and brother Buddy Vollmer. She is survived by son Ronald (Lori), son Robert (Elizabeth), son-in-law Thomas Wiegele, sister Doris (Joe) Sostarich, sister Ruth (Bill) Schmuckie and sister-in-law Kathy Vollmer. Alice leaves behind five beloved grandchildren, Kevin, Laurie, Jessica, Kyle and Craig as well as six great grandchildren, Ashlynn, Rachael, Madison, Kayden, Kaden and Bryson.
