Dr. Carl S. Davis died late Monday evening following a long illness. He was born in Amityville, New York and raised in Bay Shore, New York. Dr. Davis served for seventeen years in the Navy and then began a career in teaching and counseling at the University of Iowa. He became the Chair of the Iowa Board of Psychology before a move to Sarasota Florida in 1993. Following the relocation, Dr. Davis taught at Argosy University in both Sarasota and Tampa. Dr. Davis is survived by his wife Dr. Karen Pirnot, two step-children and his grandchildren, all of Sarasota. He is further survived by his sister and nephew in New York. Interment ceremony will be at the Sarasota National Cemetery on May 20, 2016 at 2 PM. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations in Dr. Davis’s name be made to the local Alzheimer’s Association, The Roskamp Institute (for research) or the Parkinson’s Association.
