

A loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Aunt she is survived by her husband of forty-one years Steven Chernick; two daughters, Noelle Schmitz and Jessica Cooper of Sarasota, FL and one son, Justin Chernick of Ridgefield, NJ. Also, five grandchildren; Ariel Bazell, Madison Schmitz, Aidan Schmitz, Adalae Cooper of Sarasota, and Gabriel Chernick of Ridgefield. She is also survived by a brother, Todd O’Neill of White Plains, NY and nephew Christopher Morrow of Croton, NY.
Cheryl was a homemaker who had spent many years as a caregiver for the elderly. She became an ordained minister in 1979 and was an active member of the Bee Ridge Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, in Sarasota.
Known for her kind, gentle and loving manner, Cheryl loved to feed, nurture and show continuing kindness to all she met. Cheryl studied art in college, was a published poet and avid orchid grower.
A memorial service will be held in July. Contributions for disaster relief can be made in Cheryl’s memory to the Christian Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 25 Columbia Heights, Brooklyn, NY 11201-2483
