A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2012, from 3-4, at the Venice Bible Church in Venice, FL.
Christine was born in Floral Park, NY on July 26, 1944. She was raised in Greenwich, CT, and graduated from the University of Connecticut and the College of New Rochelle with a Master’s degree in Education. She taught for several years in Peekskill, NY, prior to moving to Venice, FL, where she continued teaching with the Sarasota Public Schools, mostly in North Port, until her retirement in 2006.
Survivors include: two sons, Adam Herbst, of Fayetteville, NC, and Morgan Herbst, of Rotonda West, FL,: seven grandchildren: her mother, Carolyn Jones, of Venice, FL,: sister, Vicki Hewey, of CT, brothers, Duncan Christie of FL, and William Christie, of Venice, FL.
Her ever present smile, wit, and humor will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
