Dennis H. Gorman

Dennis H. Gorman, of Venice, FL died Saturday, July 15 at Tidewell Hospice in Venice. Survived by his loving wife Dolores; one daughter, Susan Weishaar (Gary) of Nokomis, FL, two sons, Mi­chael of Joliet, IL and Brian (Susan) of Cape Coral, FL; five grandchildren; Eric (Jennifer), and Doug (Lind­sey) Weishaar of Venice, FL; Samantha and Jeffery Gor­man of Joliet, IL, and Danielle Gorman of Cape Coral, FL. Three great-granddaughters; Ashlyn, Payton, and McKen­na Weishaar of Venice, FL; one step-granddaughter, So­phia Gregoire of Cape Coral, FL. A brother Paul (Patricia) of CA; a sister Pauline Valek of IL. Preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Eva Gorman and two brothers; Donald and Gerald of Joliet, IL. Dennis was born in Jamai­ca, IA and raised in Joliet. He was employed by Common­wealth Edison for more than 30 years and retired from the Dresden Nuclear Pow­er Plant in IL. He moved to Venice in 1993. He loved to golf, play cards and travel with their dear friends Carl and Alice Gaites. His hob­bies were creating stain glass pieces and raising orchids. A funeral service will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church located at 1301 Center Road, Venice, FL on Tuesday, August 8 at 10am.
