After retirement from Goodyear Tire as a data entry supervisor, she moved with her husband Art (Bud) McGuire to Bradenton in 1983.
Flo and Art were devoted life partners who shared many passions and interests during their 65 year marriage. A passion for politics and public affairs lead Flo and Art into active participation in the Reform Party in the 1990’s where she was chair for the Bradenton group.
They loved living in beautiful natural settings, whether in Ohio or in Florida. While in Ohio, they rehabilitated an abandoned farm, and lived for a time in Massillon in an 1850’s homestead. These settings provided a great place for family gatherings on weekends and holidays, and the families’ most treasured memories are of these events. Flo loved her family, especially as her five grand children came along, she actively engaged in fun activities and trips with the grandchildren.
Flo is survived by her husband Art, daughters Janet Stanko of Jacksonville Florida, Rita Giovinozzo of Deerfield Ohio, sons in law Tom Stanko and Tom Giovinozzo, Rita’s long time friend Oliver Yoho, and five grandchildren, Tony Giovinozzo, Guili Howiler, Thomas Giovinozzo Jr., Matthew Stanko, Margaret Waters, and cousin and dear friend Dorothy Seadler.
Flo’s strength of spirit, family relationships, and healthy life style sustained her through a long illness and serves as a role model and inspiration for her family.
