Mary A. “Alice” Campbell passed on April 14, 2020. She was the loving wife of the late John R. “Jack” Campbell to whom she was married for 62 years, before he passed in 2016. Alice was born May 7, 1932 in Baltimore, MD, daughter of the late Frank Hurst, DDS and Goldie Ethel (McAllister) Hurst, sister of Elizabeth Ann (Hurst) Cleaver, and was raised in Washington, DC.
Jack and Alice met at Duke University, were married in 1954, and raised their family in Lexington, MA, until they retired and moved to Ogunquit, ME and Sarasota, FL. Alice was a homemaker, and enjoyed sewing, reading and playing golf. Alice’s generous and compassionate heart filled her home with love, joy, family and friends. She will be missed for her clever wit, kind nature and ability to make one feel heard and important.
Alice leaves a son, David R. Campbell, MD and his wife Linda, of Winnetka, IL, and a daughter, Susan and her husband Nikolaus von Huene, of Lexington, MA. She also leaves her grandchildren Jeffrey and Sarah Campbell, and Markus and Charlotte von Huene.
Services will be held at a later date.
