Michael James Glow

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael J. Glow (Mike). He died peacefully at St. Paul’s Hospital on April 24 at the age of 95 with family by his side. Born in Winnipegosis, Manitoba, the youngest son of ten children, Mike moved to the Saskatoon area with his parents in 1928. He enlisted in the Military Services January 22, 1943 and served in Canada, England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany until the end of World War II. He then returned to Canada and was discharged on March 1, 1946 and began working in the retail business, primarily at The Bay. He married Olive Clancy in 1949 and they built their home in Montgomery Place in 1955. Mike is survived by Olive his loving wife of 69 years, his daughter Melora (Jeff) Jones, granddaughters Merina and Olivia, and numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Mike enjoyed golfing, curling, and working in his yard. He was predeceased by his parents, one sister and eight brothers. The family would like to express their gratitude for the excellent care Mike received from the doctors and staff at St. Paul’s Hospital. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mike’s name to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

Day is done – gone the sun, From the lake, from the hills, from the sky. All is well, Safely rest, God is nigh.
