Audrey Teeuwsen (Hordyk)

January 28, 1943 - June 7, 2021

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest …”

Adored wife of Bill for 57 years and loving mother to Linda & Rick, Steve & Kelly, Sandy & Cam, and Allan. Proud grandmother of Nicole, Katie, Jackie, Rachel, Connor, Cameron, Corey & Jenna.

Adrianna (Audrey) was born to Len & Nellie Hordyk in s’Gravenzande, Netherlands and immigrated to Embro, Ontario in 1951. Second youngest of seven children, Audrey married Bill in November of 1964. After she had her first child, she devoted her time to raising her family, while also doing some part-time work. Once her children got older, she started working at a greenhouse. For health reasons, she stopped working full time and once feeling better, she found new purpose in her volunteer work. The Mission Thrift store was a place she spent a lot of time and she found a wonderful community there, and a place to give back. She continued her volunteer work until her health declined and it was no longer possible.

Audrey will be dearly missed and we rejoice knowing that she is in heaven with her creator.

Arrangements entrusted to Hulse & English Funeral Home and & Chapel, 75 Church St., St. Catharines, ON, L2R 3C7.

A private service will take place at Trinity Christian Reformed Church on June 11, 2021 at 1 pm. The service will be live-streamed https://m.youtube.com/channel/UC8S2DK2CwAUY6_jcUOvS3NQ

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or Beacon Christian School.
