Daniel Patrick Doris was the son of Irish immigrant parents, and lived more than three-quarters of his 94 years on Staten Island, growing up in Annadale, then moving to Stapleton to raise his family. The last of a family of eight children, Daniel had six sisters and one brother. He was pre-deceased by his loving wife of forty-two years, Emma May Doris, and his dear son, Daniel John Doris. Daniel is survived by his loving family: a daughter, Susanne Doris, granddaughter, Bonnie Molina and her husband Alfredo Molina, three great-grandchildren, Cassidy, Alfredo Jr. and Daniel Molina, and step-grandson Gary Gluck, his wife Terry Frishman and step granddaughters Ivy Gluck Rodman and Rebecca Gluck. Daniel is also survived by many close nieces, nephews and their families.

Growing up during the depression, Daniel worked at S.S. White and Wagner’s Garage at a very young age. A veteran of WW II, he joined the Army Air Corps and was stationed in California. Upon returning from service to his country, Daniel drove tractor trailer trucks and NYC Transit Authority buses, then worked for twenty years for the NYC Department of Sanitation. Following retirement from the City, he worked ten years for the U.S. Post Office, drove a school bus for Staten Island Academy and then joined his wife Emma, working at Staten Island Savings Bank in Stapleton, where he headed their Safe Deposit department.

Daniel was a motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed gardening, camping, traveling and spending time with his family. In retirement, Daniel also lived in Daytona Beach and Key Largo, Florida, and Highlands, New Jersey, before returning to Staten Island then moving to Freehold, New Jersey. In 2019, Daniel moved to Manhattan where he so enjoyed all the excitement the city has to offer.

Daniel Patrick Doris was a generous, proud patriot who loved his country and family. His sense of humor was contagious, and he had a heart of gold. He will be so missed.
