Nora M (nee Hennessy) 87, of Mahwah passed away on June 29, 2018. She was predeceased by her husband John of 59 years.
Loving mother of John P Jr. (Darlene) Dempsey, Nancy Dempsey-Reiher and Maryann (Joseph) Mauro. Cherished grandmother of SSGT John P (Sarah) Dempsey III, Matthew and Michael Reiher, Joseph and Dylan Mauro. Adored great-grandmother of Penny and Luke Dempsey.
Dear sister of Bette Brooks, Jim Hennessy and Peg LaFontaine and sister-in law of Mary Pat Dempsey and Marita Deraney. She was predeceased by her brother John Hennessy.
She worked as an office manager at Suffern Distributors for 30+ years and volunteered at the Center for Food Action in Mahwah for over 15 years where she received many awards for her dedication.
She was a lifelong parishioner of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Mahwah where she served as the president of the school PTA.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home 177 Route 59, Suffern NY. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday July 3, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Mahwah. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Nora to the Center for Food Action or to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.
