Saddened to read of Charlie's passing. I grew up next door to the Curtins on Wood St. back in the day.  Despite the physical hardship he had to overcome,  we  spent many good times " running the bases"  and playing football with him and  his brothers, Tom, Jim and  Billy. Charlie was our designated QB. We all looked up to him. Later, he became my dentist. He was an amazing person in  many ways--an excellent dentist,  an accomplished teacher, and above all, a  really good person. 
Very, very sorry for your loss, Joan.  God bless him and all the Curtins. They were truly special people.

Charlie liked to make homemade chocolate fudge and bring it to Christmas dinner at his sister Audrey's house. Charlie was a dentist who made and shared sugary sweets. So cool.

Not only was Charlie  a good friend from Daley, but he was also my wonderful dentist for years and, let's not forget all those great days on the golf courses of the Chicago areas, especially Westgate where Norm now lives! He was also a
very good golf teacher as his game was straight and so consistent. I learned a lot from him.
My very deepest, heartfelt condolences to Joan.
