Marilyn Kay Tobolski

Marilyn, a Seattle native, passed away peacefully with her family present on July 28, 2018. She was the oldest of three girls, born on Dec 15, 1942 to Helen (née Turgeon) and Milton Chamberlain. She was an alumni of Queen Anne High School.

Marilyn married Jerry Tobolski in 1966 after meeting two years earlier at a beach party on Lake Washington. They recently celebrated their 52nd anniversary in June.

A talented homemaker, Marilyn kept busy raising two girls and working part time for many years in a kitchen supply store. She enjoyed gardening, gourmet-level cooking, throwing well-curated parties, playing cards and games, arranging flowers, spending long weekends at the family condominium on Mt. Baker, and attending golfing events with their friends at Fairwood Golf & Country Club.

Upon retirement she found great joy spending summers in Seattle, winters in Palm Springs CA, traveling the world, volunteering in the floral shop at Valley Medical Center, hosting dinners with their friends, and spending time with her beloved grandchildren, Madelyn and Sebastian.

Although Marilyn is finally free of the autoimmune disease that afflicted her for years, her thousand-watt smile and wicked wit will be dearly missed by her loving husband, Jerry; devoted daughters, Traci Tobolski Beasley, and Carrie Crane; her adored sons-in-law, Ryan Beasley and Michael Crane; her dear sister, Carol (Marshall) Harner, and sisters-in-law, Eileen Dunlap, Sharron Tobolski, JoAnn (Brian) Morford, and Yvonne Lindquist; three nieces; five nephews; her Turgeon cousins; and her very dear friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Judy Aasand; parents-in-law, Andrew and Agnes; and numerous aunts and uncles, including her beloved Aunt Antoinette (Toni), who was like a second mother.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at Fairwood Golf and Country Club in Renton, WA on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at 2:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a tribute donation to The Benaroya Research Institute via the Virginia Mason Foundation
