Joan Marie Mckinley

Joan Marie McKinley of the Villages, FL, passed on January 2, 2017 at the Villages Regional Hospital. Joan, 83, was born in Wilmington, DE on March 11, 1933. She was a graduate of Wilmington High School and Thompson Business School. Joan worked for Knapp Mills in Wilmington for 10 years before joining Merck, Sharp and Dome Pharmaceuticals in 1970 as Executive Secretary to the Mid-Atlantic regional manager for 15 years. Subsequently, she became a Regional Sales Director with Mary Kay Cosmetics becoming an elite ‘Pink Cadillac’ member. She was no stranger to hard work! Joan was President of the Ladies Auxiliary for the Wilmington Fire Department and also enjoyed working with the prison fellowship. Joan retired and moved to The Villages in 2004. She enjoyed going out to dinner, riding in her golf cart, dancing, water aerobics, bible study, fellowship and going to ANY church. Her faith was solid. Joan was a strong, independent woman with a fiery spirit and she will be dearly missed in our daily lives. She cherished time spent visiting her children and grandchildren. Her parents were John and Thelma Masucci of Wilmington, DE., since passed, David Masucci, her brother also since passed of Wilmington, DE and surviving sister, Susan Brown of Coatesville, PA. Joan is survived by her loving husband Joseph William McKinley of The Villages, FL who is a retired City of Wilmington Fire Department Lieutenant of 38 years. She is also survived by her 4 children, daughter Jacquelyn Boyer of Elkton, MD, son Scott McKinley of Newark, DE, son Joseph McKinley of Stuart, FL and son Michael McKinley of Newark, DE, and 7 grandchildren.
