Robert A. Dessert passed away on April 30 at 9:15 pm at the age of 82 at his home surrounded by his loved ones and with the special help from Hospice. He was born in Buffalo, NY to the late Edna Mae and Allen Dessert. He met his wife of 60 years, Joan in Buffalo, and soon after started on a 20+ year career in the Air Force. He was stationed many places, including Mt. Home Idaho, Guam Island, Columbus Ohio and ended his AF career in Dayton Ohio, where he earned his doctorate degree in Physics.
He and his family spent many years in Dayton where he then became Senior VP of Engineering in the printing industry and made many special friends. The last 19 years of his life were spent in The Villages Florida where he enjoyed golfing, pickleball, bowling, computer work, the Photography club, and our very special neighbors and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, 3 children, daughter Lynn, sons David and Steve and four grandchildren, brothers Thomas and Peter and deceased sisters Susan and Carol. His ashes will be preserved at Bushnell National Cemetery and there will be a celebration of Life at a later date.
