
William Frederick Brown, 85, of The Villages, FL, passed away Monday, September 11, 2017, at his home. William was born October 27, 1931, in Brooklyn, NY to Marion Seymour of Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester, England and Frederick A. Brown of Massachusetts. Stationed at the U.S. Port of Manila, in the Philippines, William served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He returned from active duty and worked in Manhattan for Peat Marwick & Mitchell and later Arthur Anderson and Ernst & Young. He married Alice Tackos with whom he had two children and lived in New Jersey until the couple divorced in 1975. On September 6, 1980, he married Donna Jean Hart from St. Louis, Missouri. The two lived in New Jersey and New York before retiring to The Villages, FL in 2013. William was an avid Duplicate Bridge player and loved to play tennis and to travel cruising. He is survived by his loving wife, Donna; his two daughters, Dianne (Brown) Karlin of Iselin, NJ, Linda (Brown) Salomone of Sherman Oaks, CA; his son-in-law, Thomas J. Karlin; his four grandchildren, Thomas John Karlin, Jr., Adam Michael Karlin, Annabella Salomone and Alessandro William Salomone; and his sister and brother-in-law, Carol Ann Morgan and Dan Morgan of Franklin Square, NY. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick A. Brown, Marion Seymour Brown Gburczyk and Xavier Gburczyk, and his brother, Edward Joseph Brown. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to the Humane Society/SPCA of Sumter County, Inc.
