Sr. Cecile Romard

Sr. Cecile Romard O.Ss.R. of the Redemptoristine Nuns of Canada completed her earthly journey for eternity at Mariann Home, Richmond Hill, Ontario on Monday, February 7, 2022. Sister Cecile was born in Cheticamp, Inverness Co., Nova Scotia on September 14, 1924. Mourning the passing of Sister Cecile Romard are the Redemptoristine Nuns formerly of the Fort Erie, Ontario Monastery and the entire Redemptoristine Order. Sr. Cecile is survived by her brothers Larry (Betty), Jean (Lillian deceased), and Roger (Susan) Romard; her sisters Therese (Percy deceased) Bilkey, Agnes (Vincent deceased) Desveaux, Dorothy (Charlie deceased) Larade. Predeceased by her parents Josephine LeBlanc and Victor Romard as well as her brothers Wilfred (Judy), Aurel (Hula), Arthur (Honora) Romard, and her sisters Germaine (Linus) Boudreau, and Marie Helen (Gerard) Deveau.

Sister Cecile Romard, O.Ss.R. was a professed member of the Order of the Most Holy Redeemer for 40 years. She made her first profession in 1982.

There will be a celebration of life for Sr. Cecile on Thursday February 10, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. EST via Zoom. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Mark Miller C.Ss.R. at 11:00 a.m. EST on Monday, February 14, 2022, at St. Bernard’s Residence, 685 Finch Avenue West, North York, Ontario (live streamed). The Internment will follow at 2:00 p.m. EST at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Snyder, Ontario (live streamed). Both these Arrangements are entrusted to Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home in Thornhill, Ontario.
